No Two Alike Afghan
This afghan is a display of the beauty of Nordic stars, roses, and palm patterns from mittens reimagined into something new!
If you want to knit a colorwork afghan without sewing together a million squares, this one’s for you! The afghan is worked in the round as one piece and then a steek will be cut to open it. Be sure you are comfortable with steeking as detailed instructions are not included here. You may also wish to add backing as floats are exposed as is.
The finished dimensions are 50 by 41 inches.
I used Big Twist yarn (the one-pound ball) and one ball of each color was enough with a little left over. Using an acrylic or superwash yarn like this one will require extra care to reinforce the steek before you cut it.
Needle used is size US 8 (5mm) circular needle, 32 inches long.
The pattern comes with two separate documents: one with written instructions and one with the charts for the colorwork squares.
See also my No Two Alike Lap Blanket which is a smaller version of this afghan, with fewer squares.
