Phaos is a relaxed drop shoulder top meant to be worn when the temperatures start rising and the days get longer. It can also be worn layered when there is just a little chill in the air. It has a simple shape which looks good on all body types and lovely eyelets which are just so comfortable to wear.

The construction of Phaos is very simple. First, you will work the back with increases for European shoulders and continue down to the underarm. Next, you will work the left side of the front and the right side of the front before joining them with a pretty V-neck (there is an option to work a shallower V-neck) and continuing down to the underarm. After that you will join the front and the back and have the choice between working Phoas straight down from there or working a slightly tapered body. Last you will work minimal cap sleeves as a finishing touch.

Sizes

1, 2 3, 4, 5 6, 7 with bust circumference of 95, 105 115, 125, 135 145, 155 cm/38, 42 46, 50, 54 58, 62”.

Phaos is designed to be worn with a positive ease of approximately of 10 cm/4”, if worn on its own, to 20 cm/8”, if worn layered over another top or a shirt.

Size 6 has now found a tester and the test should end by 15 June.

Sadly size 7 has not found a tester. If you are a size 7 tester and are willing to test and provide feedback, kindly contact me so we can organize a test.

Suggested Yarn

Lumen (fingering weight) by Laine des Iles, 50% Falkland Islands Polwarth wool, 25% Belgian linen and 25% Tencel, 350m/383 yds per 100g.

Or a similar fingering weight yarn which gives you the recommended gauge.

Approx. 670, 730 800, 870, 950 1,070, 1,180 m/733, 798 875, 951, 1039 1,170, 1,290 yds.

Sample 1 (blue) is worked with Lumen in colour Rivière in size 2 with the slightly tapered body option. It is worn with 10 cm/4” of positive ease.
Sample 2 (light green) is worked with Lumen in colour Thé Vert in size 2 with the slightly tapered body option. Is is worn layered with 15 cm/6” of positive ease.
Sample 3 (white) is worked with Lumen in colour Ecru in size 3 with the slightly tapered body option. It is worn 20 cm/8” of positive ease.

Gauge

24 sts and 34 rows in eyelet pattern for a 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4” square after wet blocking.

Phaos est un top avec les épaules légèrement tombantes conçu pour être porté quand les températures montent et les jours rallongent. Il peut aussi être porté superposé sur un autre top ou une chemise quand il fait juste un peu frais. Sa forme est simple et seyante sur toutes les silhouettes. Ses trous-trous offrent un confort appréciable quand les températures grimpent.

La construction de Phaos est très simple. Vous commencerez par tricoter les dos et les épaules selon la construction dite « à l’italienne » et continuerez le travail du dos jusqu’au emmanchures. Ensuite, vous tricoterez le le côté gauche et le côté droit du devant avant de les joindre avec un élégant col V et de continuer jusqu’aux emmanchures du devant. Après avoir joint le devant et le dos vous aurez le choix entre le tricoter droit ou légèrement cintré. En dernier lieu, vous tricoterez quelques rangs autour des emmanchures pour réaliser des mancherons (ou cap sleeves en anglais) prolongeant la ligne d’épaule.

1, 2 3, 4, 5 6, 7 avec un tour de poitrine du vêtement de 95, 105 115, 125, 135 145, 155 cm/38, 42 46, 50, 54 58, 62”.

Phaos est conçu pour être porté avec une aisance positive d’environ 10 cm/4”, si porté seul, et d’environ 20 cm/8”, si porté au dessus d’un autre vêtement.

Le test pour la taille 6 va pouvoir commencer dans les tous prochains jours et sera terminé d’ici le 15 juin.

25 mailles et 36 rangs en jersey pour un carré de 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4” après blocage.

Merci de noter qu’il est essentiel d’avoir le bon échantillon et pour les mailles et pour les rangs pour que Phaos ait les bonnes proportions et pour utiliser la quantité de fil indiqué plus haut pour les mesures du schéma.
