Sweater Construction: Port Townsend is worked from the top down, seamlessly beginning flat to shape a smooth v-neck before transitioning to raglan increases that complement the body’s natural curves.

The construction uses a compound raglan, meaning that the increase rate changes throughout the yoke for each size to achieve a great fit. After dividing for the sleeves, the garment is joined to be worked in the round, culminating in a 2x2 ribbing for a clean finish.

The sleeves are adaptable, allowing for both short and long variations, pattern includes directions for both options. A folded ribbing collar provides a refined detail, picking up stitches along the neckline and decreasing at the center for a beautiful fit.

Fit: Designed with a comfortable and flattering fit in mind, Port Townsend is best worn with 4-8” of positive ease. This ensures the sweater drapes just right, offering both style and comfort. It’s an excellent opportunity to measure your bust and choose a size that best fits your vision of ease and comfort.

Yarn: For yarn, we’re all about diving into your stash and finding those solid DK yarns that spark joy. The pattern suggests 5 body stripes and 7 sleeve stripes for the long-sleeved version, but we’re handing the creative reins to you: adjust the size and number of stripes as you see fit. Whether your aesthetic is understated elegance or a vibrant palette, Port Townsend serves as the perfect foundation for your creativity.
