A week before I was scheduled for induction with my first baby, I realized I didn’t have a hat for her that I thought would be small enough. I had newborn things but my girl was measuring teeny tiny and I didn’t know if I’d have something to fit her! In full nesting mode, I set to work designing a double-brim, classic-looking beanie.

A few days before I got to 37 weeks (at which point baby wouldn’t require a NICU stay), my doc told me that I needed to take it easy for the next few days to try to keep her in there! This was the perfect opportunity to finish her beanie while lying in bed and watching Netflix…and the morning after I finished her hat, I was admitted to the hospital. Reagan was born October 5 - at a perfect and tiny 5lb 3 oz. I hope you love this beanie design as much as I do!
