This beanie was designed by me during the Covid 19 pandemic, I was inspired by The Rainbow that filled us with hope. During that time we were only allowed out to go walking so I designed this beanie to wear during those walks. I started to get dozens of orders for this beanie from local Lanarkians so I thought I would share the pattern with the rest of the world.

This beanie can be knitted in either Aran or Chunky weight yarn. I have provided details for each in my pattern. The beanie can be knitted in variety of colour combinations, muti stripe, with a contrasting band, using three shades of yarn or just one colour. I provide all instructions in my pattern.

Both weights of yarn are used on 4mm(UK) knitting needles. Once knitted the beanie is a very thick fabric when knitted and as such you will require two skeins of 100g yarn.

This beanie will keep your ears and head warm during colder months.(No Lanark wind can get through to your ears and we have strong winds and cold winters)
