The Sacandaga Hat was inspired by the snow falling on the pine trees in the beautiful winters of Upstate New York near Lake Sacandaga.

Construction:
It is a fairly quick and simple project, and would suit a person who is new to colorwork. Beginning from the bottom up working in the round with a rib stitch, then following a chart for the colorwork, and ending with simple decrease rows and bind off. You can easily add a pompom if you wish.

Needles:
US 6/4 mm circular needle (60cms recommended), and US 6/4 mm DPNs (double pointed needles).

Notions: Stitch markers & tapestry needle

Yarn:
Worsted Weight/ 10ply (#4 Medium)
100-160 yards of your main color and 35-65 yards of your second color.
Shown here: Lion Brand Wool-Ease Solids, main color: Forest Green Heather, second color: Wheat

Finished Size:
The finished size is about 18-20” circumference, which will fit an average adult and child’s head. You can easily adapt the pattern to make it bigger or smaller by using a different yarn size and/or needle size.
