Strickmädls is the Bavarian word for “knitting girls”. As this design is possible due to the help of many of my strickmädls, I wanted to honor that.

This is an asymmetrical triangular shawl that starts out with a garter tab cast on and traditional shaping before binding off some stitches and elongating out in one direction.

I had fun designing this and hope that it is simple enough for easy knitting, but with enough changes to keep things interesting.

Gauge isn’t terribly important, other than for yarn requirements. I’m a loose knitter and used US 4. Very little yarn was left. If need be, switching colors again at the end looks just as nice as written.

This would look lovely in two colors as shown or in one gorgeous shade. Using minis or scraps, perhaps with a single skein of a tonal yarn for the lace section would look cool too!
