Sunflower Shawl
Sunflower Shawl is knit entirely without purl stitches. All of the short rows are made without picking up wraps due to Garter stitch. The leaves are worked flat and then they are joined in the round to knit the flower. The center can be knit using the magic loop method, or double pointed needles.
Yardage: 550 yards/503 meters of MC (shown in green (avocado) 40 yards/37 meters of CC (shown in yellow (honey) and 15 yards/14 meters of CC2 (shown in dark brown (chocolate)
Gauge: 10 stitches x 16 rows = 4 x 4 in/10 x 10cm square in Garter stitch
Skills Used: Knit stitch, Slip stitch, Slip slip knit, Knit 2 together, Knitting flat, and Knitting in the round using the magic loop method, or double pointed needles.
Finished size: Width approximately 50 in/127 cm at widest point. Depth is approximately 30 inches/76 cm at deepest point. Sunflower diameter is approximately 15.5 in/39 cm
