Swallowtail Butterfly Shawl is knit with bulky weight yarn in Garter stitch and Reverse Garter stitch except were there is a bit of stranded knitting along the bottom edge that is worked in Stockinette(US) / Stocking (UK) stitch. The remaining color work can be either worked as stripes or as separate color blocks depending on preference. It is finished with Three Needle bind off and begins with Cable cast on.

Yardage: Approximately 450 yards/412 meters of MC shown in Black, 350 yards/320 meters of CC shown in Yellow and 40 yards/37 meters of CC2 shown in Blue If you choose to knit it without blue add the yardage to black (490 yards/448 meters)

Needles: Size US 15/10mm 29” circular knitting needle, or size(s) needed to attain gauge in Garter stitch and Reverse Garter stitch and if needed an additional needle for the three needle bind off.

Gauge: 10 sts x 16 rows = 4 x 4 in/10 x 10cm square in Garter stitch and Reverse Garter stitch
