Peacock Feather Scarf is knit on size 6 US/ 4 mm (larger than normal) needles helping the lace to open up even more, making it light and airy. It is mostly lace knit in garter stitch, with a bit of color worked in ss st (sockenette stitch (US) stocking stitch (UK.) The color work is done partly in intarsia using the main color of the scarf and the main color of the eye (shown in brown.) When the scarf is finished being knit the rest of the eye is duplicate stitched on.

Stitches Used: make 1, knit two together, knit, purl, and duplicate
stitch

Yardage: Approximately 460 yards/420 meters of green (Grass), Brown (Brass Heather) 6 yards/meters each of Navy and Light Blue (Pool)

Needle size: US 6 or 4 mm

Size Approximately 85 inches/216 cm long with an average width of approximately 5 inches/13 cm

Note: The best yarns for lace are ones with 2 plys. (A 2 ply yarn is a yarn made out of two strands. Each strand is a ply.) These yarns help the lace open up.
