The Felted Collection is a 5 pattern ebook. All of the designs are
handknit and then felted. Within this ebook you receive patterns for: Felted Classic Mitts, Felted Convertible Mitts, Felted Gloves, Felted Cap and Felted Cloche.

The mitts and gloves all use a fingering weight, 100% wool yarn, and the hats are worked in worsted weight 100% wool. These designs are knit at a loose gauge and then machine washed in hot water to shrink them down to the correct size. All of the patterns are worked in the round, using circular or double pointed needles, whichever you are comfortable with. I have included detailed felting instructions and lots of photos of finished projects to help you along the way.

All of these patterns have been knit multiple times by me to ensure consistency. They are a fun, fast project and excellent for gift giving. Please feel free to use these patterns for small scale production and sales in craft fairs, guild sales, and etsy shops. I just ask that you credit me and this pattern.

Suggested Needles: US 7/4.5mm circular needles 32”/80cm length OR US 7/4.5mm double pointed needles.

Notions: Scrap yarn, darning needle, stitch markers, washing machine. Buttons for Convertible Mitts only.

For Felted Cap and Felted Cloche:

Skills
Cable cast-on, knit, purl, decreasing, short-rows, working in the round using circular needles and double pointed needles or magic loop.

Materials
Felted Cap
Suggested Yarn: 2 (2, 2) 50g/110yd balls Knit Picks Wool of the Andes, Worsted Weight 100% wool. Samples are in Asphalt and Midnight Heather.

Yardage: 117m/128yds (133m/145yds, 161m/176yds) worsted weight yarn.

Felted Cloche
Suggested Yarn: 2 (2) 50g/110yd balls Knit Picks Wool of the Andes, Worsted Weight 100% wool, in colour Merlot.

Yardage: 161m/176yds (200m/220yds) worsted weight, 100% wool yarn.

I have used Patons Classic Wool, Gallway, Cascade 220 worsted, for this pattern. All work beautifully with subtle differences in finished texture. You can also hold two strands of fingering weight yarn together. Just be sure to use 100% wool; this will NOT work with a super-wash yarn.

Suggested Needles: 6mm/US 10, 40cm/16” circular needles AND 6mm/US 10, 80cm/32” circular needles OR 6mm/US 10 double pointed needles for crown decreases.

Notions: Darning needle, stitch markers, washing machine, decoration/embellishment of your choice for the Cloche only.

Gauge: 16 sts/10cm or 4”, and 22 rounds/10cm or 4” using 6mm/US 10 needles, in stockinette stitch, in the round, BEFORE felting.

Sizes:

Felted Cap:
Small, Medium, Large
Circumference at brim after felting: 46cm/18”, 48cm/19”, 51cm/20”
Crown to brim after felting: 20cm/8”, 22cm/8.5”, 22cm/8.5”
Fits head circumference: 48-51cm/19-20”, 51-56cm/20-22”, 58-61cm/23-24”

Felted Cloche:
Small/medium, Large
Circumference at brim after felting: 48cm/19”, 51cm/20”
Crown to short side of the brim after felting: 23cm/9”, 24cm/9.5”
Fits head circumference: 51-56cm/20-22”, 58-61cm/23-24”

For both the Cap and Cloche:
Choose a size based on the brim circumference AFTER felting. This cap is intended to be worn with zero ease, but will be custom shaped to your measurements after felting. You can easily add/subtract length in the body of the hat by adding more rounds of st st, or working fewer rounds.
