Triolet (pronounced tree-oh-leh’) is a French musical term for a rhythmic grouping of 3 notes within simple time. While considered an “irregular” grouping in simple time, this rhythmic pattern creates a lovely lilting effect.

The Triolet scarf is made up of alternating pattern groups that reflect the ternary quality of this musical rhythm. The scarf’s pattern is designed so that it is evenly mirrored from the central point width-wise.

This scarf is easily adaptable to different yarns and needle sizes, and can be shortened to the desired length.

I’ve added an optional decorative fringe, with detailed and pictured instructions.

Skill level: Easy
Yardage: 540y/495m of worsted/aran yarn

I used Universal Yarn Uptown Worsted Mist, but since this variegated yarn is discontinued, I listed the solid-color version of Uptown as the required yarn.
