Notes
  • I’m about 95% sure that I am using the correctly linked order of this yarn and that this order matches the unbiased gauge test. If not, well then, damn it, but I am not going to make (yet another) fucking sample, so meh.
  • In memory of gram’s critique of summer 2019 sweater, “isn’t ribbing supposed to be knit on a needle two times smaller than stockinette rather than just a single size smaller, dear?”, I used sz 8 ndls for the stockinette, sz 6.5 ndls on neck and hem ribbing, and sz 5 ndls for arm ribbing.
  • I haven’t used traditional short rows since… Biggest Project Yet!. I used modified short rows on Momma’s replacement favorite sweater and (I think) on Ria’s fall 2015 sweater. Funny how much easier they are now (and, no, of course, I did not practice - I just doubled down and banged the rows out).
  • I instinctively used the M/L instructions, however the pattern was written to be knit on sz 5 ndls and at an x axis gauge of 6 sts/in. My prewash gauge is coming out giant so, pretty much, I am making a giant soft floppy thing… which doesn’t suck, but was not consciously intentional.
  • Standard single b/off for neck/hem on sz 8 ndls
  • Jenny’s super stretchy b/of for sleeves on sz 6 ndls
  • After putting in the neck ribbing, the neckline on this seems less too large.
  • After washing/throwing the finished sweater through the dryer, I pulled on the hem to see how much give it had… and immediately ripped the goddamn thing in 3 separate places before even trying it on. Mother. Fucker. Annoying.
  • Ghetto fixed (although, really, is there a better way to do it?) the rips, put in the ends, and will be wearing it anyway.
  • After wash/dry, the fit is damned close to what I wanted anyway. FTW.
