Knitting: Cowl
This cute accessory can be worn either as a hat or a cowl. So I’m calling it a “Howl.” It’s my version of a “messy bun” or “ponytail hat”. I first knitted this years ago because I’ve had long hair for most of my life. And since the “messy bun” or “ponytail hat” has had a popularity revival lately, I thought I would share this as a free pattern ...
Knitting: Cowl
I designed this cowl to go with Caron’s Fairly Fair Isle Hat which is a free pattern designed by Tanis Gray. For info, see my Ravelry page notes:
Knitting: Collar
This cozy neckwarmer has no closure. It’s a tube that slips over the head very snuggly, so make sure that you cast on enough stitches (multiple of two) to fit over your head. Sample fits over my 23.5-inch head with only 42 stitches cast on, but check your work to make sure. The 1 x 1 ribbing is very stretchy, and will spring back. Probably not ...
Knitting: Legwarmers
Very easy and quick pattern that can be made with any fingering weight or sock yarn. Wear them pulled all the way up to your knee or scrunched down over the top of ankle boots.
Knitting: Gloves
I created these gloves to go with my “Anemone Hat” (Hat pattern designed by Cat Bordhi.) Since I’m an avid photographer, I made holes in both index fingers to make it easier for me to hold my camera. The holes are optional, but when not in use, they’re barely noticeable, and my fingers stay just as warm as if they were not there. Great when usi...
Knitting: Scarf
My favorite scarves are reversible, and this one is just that. It’s super easy, knit flat and lengthwise. I used a 60-inch long (150 cm) Addi Turbo Click Interchangeable cable. However, if you don’t have a long cable like this, use TWO 29-inch long (80 cm) cables in tandem with stops on unused ends to prevent stitches from slipping off. Even th...
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Hat is knit from bottom to top in the round. Very easy and quick knit due to the yarn weight and size 9 needles. Available colorways in recommended yarn are fabulous. Make a beautiful gift with less than one ball of yarn. Hat can be worn slouchy or as a beanie with the ribbing turned back. All available yarn colors (as of 2012) are shown at lef...
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Although this yarn is labeled “DK”, it’s more like fingering yarn in my opinion. Be sure to check your gauge using K1, P1 rib stitch.
Knitting: Beret, Tam, Beanie, Toque
I created this hat pattern to go with my “Heart Scarf”. Information on the scarf can be found here:
Knitting: Scarf
I created this “Heart Scarf” to go with my “Heart Hats” (beanie and slouchy versions). You can find my matching hat pattern here:
Knitting: Beret, Tam
Beret is knitted in the round from the bottom to the top.
Knitting: Beret, Tam
Hat is knit from the bottom up in the round with simple 1-over-1 cables. So easy. No cable needle required. Slouchy hats are my favorite. You should be able to make this hat smaller by using lighter weight yarn and/or changing needle sizes.
Knitting: Beret, Tam
I’ve seen some similar slouch hats, but nothing exactly like this one. So I’ve written out the instructions, in case you’d like to make one just like mine. The wide band features easy cables, but you can just do a simple 2 x 2 ribbing as an alternative.
