Crochet: Afghan block
A bold, floral motif popping with colour and texture.
Crochet: Edging
Thank you very much to my Ravelry friend Majesty1 for suggesting such a marvellous name! Seems to describe it perfectly.
Crochet: Throw
This design builds on the motifs from “In an English Garden”, squared off, adjusted and with extra rounds added to create different sized modules, or expanded much further into a cosy lap-sized blanket. It reminds me of sunny days tending the crops on my allotment, and several (imaginative) people have said they can see different vegetables amo...
Crochet: Afghan block
This design has lots of fine texture and opportunities for playing with colour. It is the June 2023 square for the Block a Month Crochet Along (BAMCAL) - join in the fun here. Very honoured to be part of this great project!
Crochet: Throw, Shawl / Wrap
This design plays with tesselated shapes in the same way as Fired Earth, but with a completely different pastel, floral theme. Use it as a shoulder wrap, a chair or sofa throw, a cosy lap blanket or a stylish decoration across the end of a bed. Instructions are given for two full-size motifs plus one half-size, along with suggestions for layout...
Crochet: Afghan block
This afghan block comes in two sizes - a smaller single-coloured version and a larger multi-coloured square. Both are heavily textured and interesting to crochet as every round is different. A separate set of instructions for each one allows for a smooth transition between rounds in both cases, for the neatest possible result. There are 11 page...
Crochet: Afghan block
This is a bright, simple geometric square based on the octagonal motif in “Painting with Light”. It lends itself to infinite colour combinations but for a true stained glass effect the ‘lead’ rounds should contrast strongly with the colours chosen for the ‘glass’ panels.
Crochet: Throw
The more elaborate of the two motifs in this afghan pattern was designed in response to a request from a fellow crocheter - a lady called Pip wrote to ask if I would consider creating a square to match the colourful tiles in her kitchen in Shropshire. Hence the name! It was a daunting idea at first but proved to be an irresistible challenge :)....
Crochet: Decorative - Other
Back in fashion again - one of the mainstays of the trendy 1970s home. Get the macramé look the easy way, with a simple crochet design constructed from the bottom up. Ideal for showing off your favourite trailing plant in a pretty pot.
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap, Throw
Bring some Mediterranean sunshine into your life with this colourful design. Nineteen motifs will make a rectangular or round shape. Originally inspired by vividly patterned Spanish tiles but equally effective in a single colour, the textured hexagons are fun to make and can be sewn or crocheted together - if you’re not a fan of those wavy, une...
Crochet: Hanging Ornament
A pretty hanging decoration or Christmas bauble, quick to make with only four rounds. Needs knowledge of one or two specialised stitches but beginners will find plenty of help online.
Crochet: Afghan block
Originally inspired by Asian fabrics and carpets in rich, spicy shades, this textured afghan block would look equally good in any two contrasting colours, or in a full rainbow palette.
Crochet: Afghan block
Now includes extension rounds to bring the square up to 12” across (in Worsted weight yarn), in a separate file. YOU NEED TO DOWNLOAD BOTH FILES TO MAKE THE LARGER SQUARE.
Crochet: Afghan block
(This single pattern only.)
Crochet: Throw
Odd-sided octagons fit together with smaller diamond shapes to form an all-over design with strong geometric lines, reminiscent of leaded glass and the golden age of Art Deco.
Crochet: Afghan block
Use your favourite yarn to create a richly textured motif inspired by the glorious mosaics found throughout North Africa, the Mediterranean and beyond.
Crochet: Throw
This design features interlocking tile shapes in a diagonal arrangement, adding interest to the usual modular construction. It was inspired by the beautiful 19th century tiled floors which can still be found in many British homes, especially in porches and hallways. A touch of texture adds extra cosiness!
Crochet: Edging
This interesting border will complement and enhance a blanket, afghan or cushion cover. As long as the foundation round has the correct stitch multiple on each side (easily achieved) the pattern can be used to edge any size of square or rectangle.
Crochet: Tote
This colourful bag is based on The Jackfield Tile Square (pattern available separately here) but can of course be made with any suitable square. Both Jackfield patterns have now been completely updated and revamped, with lots more photographs and clearer instructions.
Crochet: Afghan block
This afghan square was my first ever design. Along with its sister pattern The Jackfield Tile Tote Bag (find it here), it has now been fully revamped and updated.
