Aquariolis, meaning water bearer, will let you go hands free when on the go with your water bottle. Knit in the round, the carrier features an open stitch and a comfortable strap you customize by knitting to the desired length. Cotton yarn is used for its durability and ability to absorb moisture. Skills used in this pattern include e-wrap knit...

Lava Lamp is a two-color, sideways knit striped hat in garter stitch with short-row details. The wavy stripes reminded me of the undulating color formations of a lava lamp. Choose some bright psychedelic colors for a playful hat, or go a little more subdued with a neutral pairing. Skills used are e-wrap knit, purl, short rows, crochet cast on o...

Walker’s Ripple Hat & Cowl
Knitting: Hats - Other
This pattern is for a loom knit hat with corners - “ears” - on top.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This pattern yields a shawl that is light and airy, perfect for summer evenings or for anytime you need a light covering for your shoulders and arms. It uses a combination of two lace stitches, Open Honeycomb and Seaglass as published in the Loom Knitter’s Stitch Dictionary While the shawl does not have to be blocked, please note that the lace ...
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
My son asked me to make him a hat. He had a list of requirements which included being slouchy, soft, textured, and “not girly”. He wanted a somewhat loose fit on the body so as not to mess up his hair. The gray prototype I created for him has been his favorite hat for 3 years, so I figured it was time to turn my notes into a pattern. Since I he...
Knitting: Purse / Handbag
This pattern is for a “pocket on a string” - a seamless, bottom-up bag with a carry strap sized to hold a smart phone and perhaps some ID and cash. Just what you need when traveling light, or when wearing an outfit with no pockets!
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This is a loom knit version of the Lizard Ridge Dishcloth by Laura Aylor Designs and is adapted with permission from Laura Aylor, who has graciously allowed me to share her pattern.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This pattern is for a sideways-knit textured triangle shawl. It uses multiples of the stitch pattern of the Dudester Scarf for the Loom by Anna Marie Wright, framed in a garter stitch border.
Knitting: Scarf
Long-striping yarns are beautiful, with coordinated colors in one skein yielding lovely segments of color without changing skeins. If you’ve succumbed to the temptation of a colorful yarn cake, here is a pattern that shows off all the colors at once in a scarf that is knit sideways. You will create stripes from end to end in an open stitch with...
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This hat pattern is for a textured ribbed hat, knit on any loom with a multiple of 6 pegs. Match your yarn to your loom gauge - Bulky for a larger gauge of 1/2” or so (for example, 36-peg green Knifty Knitter, or 48 large pegs Martha Stewart) or worsted for 3/8” (Adjustable Hat Loom or small pegs Martha Stewart).
Knitting: Bath Mitt
The pattern is for a loom knit back scrubber. An i-cord handle at each end helps you get those hard to reach areas as you gently exfoliate with a mixture of soft cotton and textured scrubbing yarn.
Knitting: Scarf
This pattern is for a textured triangular scarf. Both solid colors and self-striping yarns yield excellent results.
Knitting: Beret, Tam
This pattern will instruct you how to knit a hat sideways in the Box Garter stitch. It yields a hat that is very stretchy and drapes well. The pattern uses short row shaping while knitting a flat panel that is seamed into a hat.
Knitting: Scarf
This scarf is knit in the Box Garter Stitch with a segment of regular garter stitch at each end to give it additional structure and help it drape. Knit with a single strand of soft worsted yarn on a large gauge loom, it has a lush texture that keeps you warm without being heavy or bulky. The fabric is appealing on either side.
Knitting: Throw
Construction of this color block afghan is modular. The first square is in the center.
Knitting: Beret, Tam
This pattern is for a slouchy, striped hat using bulky yarn. It has a loose fit highlighted by contrasting horizontal ribs of color.
Knitting: Cowl
This little project is more of a “recipe” than a design, as it shows the knitter the stitches needed to create an infinity scarf using the seed rib stitch. Seed rib is a column of knit stitches,a colum of seed stitches, then purl, then seed. It is reversible, and puckers into a wide rib effect without curling. It has moderate stretchiness.
Knitting: Rug
This mat is knit on the yellow 41-peg Knifty Knitter, but any large gauge loom using 40 pegs will yield similar results.
Knitting: Cowl
This pattern was designed to be loom knitted using a bulky (5) yarn on a large gauge loom. The cowl is knitted flat and the ends tied together, and so can be knitted on either a round loom or long loom. The 31-peg red Knifty Knitter round loom was used in the original. The figure-8 and the yarn over/knit 2 together will cause the work to slant,...
