Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
I’ve been making these mitts on the days when I barely have time to knit. They are a quick project that makes a good use of sport/dk/fingering weight scrap yarns. I’d like this pattern to be more of a recipe than an actual strict pattern. It is easily modifiable and may use a variety of yarn weights and types.

Knitting: Beanie, Toque, Headband
The weaving motif featured in this design is known as many names throughout the Highlands of the Cordilleras. Hinulgi is the Ifugao name of this weaving motif.

This hat was made from my attempts of recreating patterns and textures I saw in various indigenous river fish traps. These traps were made using Rattan or Hemp strings loosely woven through spines of bamboo or cane. They usually gathered to a pointy end where the holes created by the interwoven spines and strings became too small for the fish t...

The Chico River is a long and beautiful river and the lifeline of many indigenous tribes in the Northern Philippines. It is a symbol of the resilience of the indigenous peoples who opposed a major dam development project in the 70s. That project was going to uproot indigenous peoples from not only their ancestral lands but also their way of lif...
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
I’ve always had a penchant for legends and folk tales, and these simple graphic shapes (a downward chevron framed by 2 zig zag lines) remind me of the story of how the remains of Apo Anno (an Ancient Ibaloi warrior hero) were laid to rest because the waters carried him to a sacred place. Water is sacred and in certain legends, it may even be se...

The Táwid Hat was inspired by the Tik-tiko weaving motif from the Cordillera Highlands of Northern Philippines. This weaving motif can be seen in 2 ways, as X marks or as diamond marks, both of which relate to Rice. As X-marks, it represents the Lusong or the mortar used to pound rice for hulling. As Diamonds, it represents the individual rice ...
Knitting: Pullover
The Una Sweater is the first sweater pattern I’ve published. Una is the Filipino word for “First”; a very apt name for my first sweater pattern. And now, after a lot of encouragement, I have graded the pattern for kids sizes for ages 1—12. It has been an exciting journey and the learning curve was definitely great. This would be the first kids ...

It is easily modifiable with its broad stripes that can be a potential to showcase different colors for a stash busting project. The Habi Series is a Collection of patterns inspired by Traditional Filipino Weaving Motifs from the Northern Highlands of the Cordilleras and the Southern Plains in Mindanao. Through this series, I will highlight the various weaving motifs that inspired me. Some are a direct transcription of the motif from the woven to the knitted, but others ...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
My Ever Trusty Shawl is the very first knitting pattern I have attempted to write. It was conceived as a very simple mindless knitting project for a bus ride i was about to embark on from my hometown Baguio City, to Dagupan City 3 hours away. It was just a way for me to keep awake during the bus ride. Long story short, I didn’t stop knitting it...
