In 2022 I’m greeting every season with a shawl surprise - and here’s the third! Leaf Storm’s all about leaves rustling in the wind, swirling around the streets and blowing into huge, leapable drifts.

Polkacats is a raglan-sleeved, catty-colourworked knit. The pattern includes full instructions for the sweater and for both a steeked and a flat-knit cardigan, and there are elbow and long-sleeved options.

I pass a big lavender bush between home and work, and it’s the summer highlight of my tiny commute. It’s loud with humming and I always pause to watch the bees - so many bees! - moving from spike to spike, filling their little saddlebags with pollen before setting off home to their hive.
