Before every class with one of my favorite graduate school professors, she would ask us to identify our “pit and peak”, aka an exciting thing and a challenging thing happening in your life right now. She also called it rose and thorn among other names. I have always loved this sentiment and believe it’s important to acknowledge the good things ...
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
I recently learned that there are no patterns for those who use assistive hearing devices. I had a fellow knitter reach out to me asking for help finding a pattern; unfortunately, we could not find one on Etsy or Ravelry.
Knitting: Bonnet
The Sumac Bonnet is a great beginner bonnet. There’s no joining in the round, no DPNs, no fancy crown shaping. It’s a beautifully simple pattern that will work up in no time with just a few common knitting skills. The bonnet is worked flat throughout.

I don’t know about you, but when I first made this I saw bushels of wheat! Many of my friends said it looked like DNA or chromosomes, but I am standing by my bushel idea! The Bushel Beanie is full of intricate texture that you will love knitting. The squish factor is incredible, and the cables are easy to achieve once you get the hang of it.

With spring on its way, we need a lightweight beanie! This one fits the bill. It is light, drapey, and breathable. The large needles paired with the looser stitch make for a perfect early spring hat. Petrichor is the lovely smell that lingers around after rain; which is what I was enjoying while designing this.

Do you have some leftover yarn from that fingering weight sweater or those sport weight socks? Is your leftover yarn almost too small do anything with?
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Sitting in a hotel in Burlington Vermont, I was inspired to make a new pattern. I was itching to use the yarn I had gotten the day prior at a local yarn shop; a beautiful skein of dusty purple speckled with pink spots and streaks of dark plum. I played around with so many stitches but ultimately fell in love with this. The Interstice beanie is ...

The Bedelia Bonnet is super sweet and cozy; it will keep your baby warm all winter long. If done in lightweight or cotton yarn this would be adorable for spring. The Tobay Beanie is named for my favorite beach back home on Long Island. The first Tobay Beanie was knit back home so I knew the name was perfect. This beanie has a lot of super soft and cozy texture; cables, garter, and raised stitches just to name a few! You’ll love it and maybe learn a few new techniques! This is an advanced beginner pattern.
Knitting: Cowl
The Crystal Lattice Cowl is a quick knit pattern that features the same lattice techniques as its beanie counterpart. Just like the beanie, the lattice builds off of and feeds right into the ribbing on each edge. This gives it a very clean and skillful appearance, only you will know it takes just a few hours to complete!

Crochet: Scarf
The Chalamet Scarf is a Tunisian Crochet pattern that uses a stitch I do not know the name of! I’m going to be honest with you, I did this one day while experimenting with swatches and have never been able to find a tutorial for it! I think it looks V’s so I decided to call it that! This stitch, and its extended counterpart, give you a lovely f...
