I live on the Avalon Peninsula, one of my favourite places in the world. I love writing patterns and designing, puzzles and mysteries, and simply complex and complexly simple things. I grew up in Sidney, Deep Cove, and Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island but Newfoundland and Labrador is where I call home. I used to be Jennifer McLarty before Steven Beale magically stumbled into my life, have a B.Sc. in Physics with a minor in Mathematics at the University of Victoria, M.Sc. in Physical Oceanography at Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a Ph.D in Atmospheric Science at York University. Once upon a time I was a fog-loving atmospheric scientist, but after our little Basil boy was born, this is * wear * I’ve ended up. And I still love fog.
