I’ve loved crochet, since I was a child, when someone bought me the Ladybird Learning Crochet book for Christmas. I tried to teach myself, and failed, so many times before it finally clicked. But, when it did, my parents couldn’t have been happier. No longer did I moan about having nothing to do….a copy of Golden Hands and I was no trouble for days ;)
As I got older, I worked my way through most of the crafts in those magazines, (which I still have today), but crochet and sewing were the only ones to capture my imagination completely.
Back in the 80s, pregnant with my eldest daughter, I suddenly had a reason to crochet - bonnets, booties, matinee jackets and no end of blankets awaited her arrival. It was something I picked up, and put down, many times throughout the years that followed.
It wasn’t, however, until the birth of baby number 5 (2011), that I started writing patterns for the things I made – I guess being teased by my family, that I might get old and forget them, was the prod I needed ;)
The patterns I bring to you now are a mixture, of both old and new designs - I hope you find something you like.
