I crocheted this doily in the winter of 1980-81. It was my first adventure in the world of thread and tiny hooks and I was thrilled with the final product. Somewhere between then and now I managed to loose the pattern and do not remember where it came from.

I know the original pattern must exit somewhere, but after years of searching I have been unable to find it. Therefore I decided to do what women have done for decades to preserve the patterns they have loved; I recreated it using my doily as a chart.

I take no credit for the original design. My goal was to preserve a pattern I thought too pretty to lose.
