This is a unisex & simplified version of the Little Acorns Sweater and matches the Acorn Pixie Socks
The sweater is knit sideways in one piece and is mostly garter stitch with a ring of little lace acorns around the yoke. All shaping at the yoke and cuffs is done with short rows. The hood is picked up and knit on after the sweater is finished, and so is optional or could be made as a detached hood. A knowledge of I-cord and I-cord edgings is a must. The sweater can be made in one or two colours all instructions for this are in the pattern.
The different sizes are obtained by changing gauge and yarn weight. Gauge is taken in garter stitch,
the newborn size is made with fingering weight yarn at a gauge of 24sts in 4”, and requires 3 50g balls of yarn.
The 6 month size is made with DK or Sport weight at a gauge of 20sts in 4”, and requires 4 50g balls of yarn.
The 12 month size is made in worsted weight yarn at a gauge of 18sts in 4”, and requires 4 50g balls of yarn.
