The Alani was inspired and created for my sister who is due any day now with her first baby! My sister loves the ocean and all things blue so her daughter will be bundled to sleep in this little set complete with layers of waves, scalloped shells, cabled seaweed and coral reefs, swimming fish, a sea turtle, and even a jellyfish! This is a great set for any water baby in your life - boy or girl!

The Alani Summer Ocean Sleep Sack Set is the second in my series of seasonal newborn sets.

Notes:
-The pattern includes the sleep sack, the hat, and all the attached sea creatures.
-The main pattern has the written instructions and there is a chart if you prefer. The chart is read from left to right, top to bottom (so backwards and upside down) due to the nature of the construction.
-You will need at least 2 skeins of Ocean Spray (light blue) and less than 1 skein of Peacock (dark blue).
-The gauge listed is from purling in the round, as indicated in the pattern.
-A crochet hook is listed for beading only - there are no crochet elements in this set.

Errata:
Thanks to RapunzelRides for these notes (I have corrected the pattern and chart and it will be uploaded within the hour (06/18/12):

“For both the sleep sack and the hat - join to knit in the round after cast on.

“I generally knit from charts, which are usually written bottom to top, right to left (I turned yours upside down). Personally, I could not differentiate between knit and ktb on the chart itself, they both look like little blue boxes to me. Maybe there is a symbol you could add to the ktb to make it look different?” - That happened when I converted to pdf - the symbol I used went missing and I didn’t notice! I’ve updated it with a trident (how appropriate! and reloaded it).
