This sweater is intricate enough to keep a knitter interested; requires skills basic enough that it’s not beyond an enthusiastic beginner; and is “manly” enough that even guys with conservative tastes will want to wear it. And all with no seaming!

  • small: to fit 35” chest, finished chest 40”, length 25.5”
  • medium: to fit 39” chest, finished chest 44.5”, length 26.75”
  • large: to fit 43” chest, finished chest 47”, length 27.25”
  • 1X: to fit 47” chest, finished chest 52”, length 27.75”
  • 2X: to fit 51” chest, finished chest 56”, length 28.5”

Yarn Requirements

  • small: about 1600 yards
  • medium: about 1850 yards
  • large: about 2000 yards
  • 1X: about 2200 yards
  • 2X: about 2450 yards

Other Materials Needed

  • spare length of yarn about 30 inches long

  • 2 pieces of scrap yarn in contrasting colour for provisional cast-ons, both about 24 inches long

  • 10 stitch holders

  • stitch marker, or whatever else you prefer to use to mark beginning of rounds
