If you loved my Donegal Cabled Kate hat, then you will love this design built using the same technique with a different cable sequence. It has been a best seller in my fashion collection and was always knit visually from the sample, now it is written!

Size: measured flat at the widest point 10.5ins or 21ins circumference using merino wool. In Aran tweed wool the measurement will be 22ins or about one inch more.
Adjustments are straight forward.

Cables: Both a 4 stitch cable (2 over 2) all one direction, and a Three stitch cable, both directions (1 oner 2 and 2 over 1) are used.
This is a great project to practice cables on.

Make a very unique version by holding yarns together and using up stash yarns in different colours, working to gauge.

A big Thank you to Julie Steinhafel for test knitting this pattern for the Edel Spring retreat project of 2024 in merino raspberry from ‘Edels Wool Shop’ online and in French navy merino.
Thank you to the wonderful knitters from all grades of their ‘cabling’ journey who enjoyed making this hat with me in Donegal recently.
