This cabled hat has been a collection silhouette for many years and a real family favourite. The written pattern IP was never made available until now, is fact there was none, we just knit them. it now has the benefit of tweaks over the years too. I enjoyed the process of refining it for publication.

Two plaited cables bordered with an Irish single moss (seed) are worked lengthwise. The crown is picked up and decreased in a standard way. The back seam is stitched closed.

Any Aran yarn will work. It will be added as a two pack kit to our website, we ship internationally.

Yardage: 160-180 yards

Needles: 5mm (US 8)

The pattern is easily adjustable and could be adapted to a sport weight if desired.

Techniques:
Casting On
Stocking Stitch
9 stitch cable with or without a cable needle
PUK pick up and knit
SKP decreasing
Irish single moss (seed stitch)
