WITH the approach of the cold weather knitting needles will be busy once again. It is good to have some work on hand for winter evenings by the fireside, and since cosy woollies will be very much of a necessity in a few weeks, it will be as well to make an early start on pullovers — and perhaps matching scarf and cap sets. The attractive jumper for which directions are given here is an extremely simple one, so that the pattern is an excellent one for the beginner to work from.

The jumper is in a small fitting — for a 30-inch bust — and it is worked in three-ply wool. Five skeins will be needed, with a pair of each of No. 11 and No. 9 bone knitting needles [Old UK].
