Hello everyone,

I was inspired to write this pattern because it reminded me of all the dress up clothes I loved as a child. I love how the frills move and turn as you walk and the femininity of the ruffles.

The name came to me because of the numerous times I reminded myself to write it down, ‘before it’s gone’ from my mind. Hence the project was born.

Linen is one of my favourite fibres. I love the cool crisp freshness of it and and thought it would be perfect to wear with summer attire. So I chose linen for my first sample. While working on my pattern my yarn shelves beckoned for a second sample. The Sweet Georgia Cashluxe called my name. The gorgeous, warm softness of it would be perfect for fall and winter. I couldn’t wait to work on the second one.

I added beads to both of my pieces, which was not necessary but I thought it added a nice touch. I placed these beads with a crochet hook one stitch in on the long straight edge of the shawl, on the very tip of each frill, and along the second last rows of each of the ruffles. I applied my beads by using a crochet hook, however they can also be added by threading them on the yarn and sliding one up at a time and knitting it onto the stitch as you need it.

I hope you enjoy this pattern and your finished garment as much as I enjoy mine.

Happy Knitting,
Wendy
