Fair isle technique combines with a simple twisted cable to create a lofty, dense fabric for this mountain landscape inspired cowl. Textural depth is created by using DK weight yarn for the main color and a lighter, sport weight yarn for the contrasting background. Get creative with the background; combine bits of leftover yarns or use a combination of self-striping yarns to paint your own picture. Upper edge combines ribbing and a rolled edge for a soft yet firm fabric under your chin. Knit in the round. Inspired by the Fractured Lattice stitch pattern in The Craft of Cable-Stitch Knitting by Barbara Walker.

Pattern includes instructions for two sizes, 32 inch (Large) and 28 inch (Small) circumference, and optional button detail for size large. Written instructions, with chart for twisted cable pattern. Yarn requirement; less than 100 gm of DK weight for main color, 50-75 gms of sport weight for contrast color.
