Deep borders of lace and seed stitch trim this elegant cardigan. The collar band echos the motifs in the border and slight A-line shaping and set in sleeves combine to create a sophisticated silhouette, perfect for any dressy occasion.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Bust - 32¾ (37, 41½, 45¾)(50¼, 54½, 58¾)“.
Collar bands overlap approx 2½”.
Intended to be worn with 0-2” of ease.

NEEDLES: U.S. size 6 (4mm) 32” (80cm) or longer circular needle.
Circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches.
Adjust needle size as needed to obtain correct gauge.

OTHER: Stitch holders, stitch markers, removable markers (2), extra needle in same size for 3-needle bind off, tapestry needle.

GAUGE: 22 sts/30 rows = 4” in stockinette, blocked.
12 sts/61 rows = 2¼“ wide x 7¼” high in Lace and Seed Border, lightly blocked.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate. Techniques include long tail cast on, decreases, m1 increases, German short rows, picking up stitches, and 3-needle bind off.

CONSTRUCTION: The body is worked flat from the bottom up in one piece to the armholes, with slight A-line shaping, and then separated for the fronts and back. The shoulders are shaped with short rows and joined with 3-needle bind off. Collar bands are knit with the fronts and joined to the tab at the back neck with 3-needle bind off. The set-in sleeves are knit flat, seamed, and sewn into the armholes.
