One can always tell when winter has arrived. Shorts and sandals are traded for jeans and boots, and scarves and cowls start to peek out from under jackets and beanies. At work, our custodian has been coming in from the freezing hallways to get warm, and his muffler keeps coming undone. I wanted to create something that anyone could wear to work and play, and keep warm. This simple cowl knits up quickly with bulky yarn, and the cable motif is reminiscent of antlers without being too ornate. A reverse-stockinette background ensures that the cables stand out.

Pattern is both fully written and charted. The cables are simple, and suitable for someone who’s fairly new to cabling.
