Oslo is the capital of Norway. While this city is coastal and experiences relatively mild weather for Northern Europe, the country itself is vast, with a large portion above the Arctic Circle. Even travel to Norway in August can be chilly. This handkerchief-style cowl offers more coverage in the front without the long, dangling ends of a scarf or shawl. This cowl is constructed of a wool and silk blend yarn that is meant to be both breathable and cozy for transitional weather. The snowflake-inspired lace motif will play nicely with both variegated and single-color yarns.

Pattern calls for a single skein of DK or light worsted yarn, and is knit in the round from the top down. A lace snowflake motif is created with simple yarnovers and decreases, with two options for a central double increase. Pattern is both fully written and charted.
