Inspired by the graceful architecture of the Golden Gate Bridge, this versatile elongated crescent juxtaposes textured lace against smooth stockinette and garter stitch to create a modern interpretation of the bridge’s classic outline.

The shawl is worked seamlessly from the top down, starting with a set of simple garter stitch short rows that merge into the solid shapes of the lace border. The strong vertical elements along the bottom edge are worked in simple garter stitch lace, which adds extra texture to the finished project.

You can also buy the pattern in a kit or the magazine.
