I wanted to try something different from the traditional beanie or slouchy hat. One day I just saw an octopus and researched references until I found the right inspiration for this particular hat.

Available in women’s small, medium and large, this hat can be very comfy and versatile. The ribbing represents the legs, the baggy main part is like the octopus’s body and the opening is like the mouth. I know, strange way of thinking about it but how else would you see an octopus on your head if it were a hat? :)

The “pot” part of the title comes from how this pattern reminds me of the old clay pots one would find during an excavation with it’s curled lip opening and round body.

Please note that you might not use all the yarn as suggested (which is no longer available anyways), but the features of this pattern can be adjusted to your liking
