Please Note
This pattern uses both knitting and crochet techniques. The body is knitted, with a crochet trim along the finger and thumb edges.

Interlinked Hearts bordered by a “chain” on each side, with a Crocheted Shell edging around the fingers and thumb edges.

Sizes: Ladies’ Small {Medium, Large}

Finished Measurements:
Hand Circumference: 6¾{7½, 8} inches
Mitten Length: 7 {8, 8½}] inches

Materials:
DK/light worsted yarn (Category 3, 14 wpi), 2.2{2.5, 2.9} oz / 60{70, 80} grams; 132 {154, 175} yards / 120{140, 160} meters. Model was worked in Australia Merino Color #10 (100% wool). Yardages are approximate.

Tools:
Size 6 (4 mm) Circular Knitting Needles long enough for magic loop technique or two circular size 6 needles (or size needed to obtain gauge).
Size E or 4 (3.5 mm) Crochet Hook
Yarn needle

Blocking board and pins

Gauges After Blocking:
10.5 stitches and 16 rounds = 2 inches (5cm) over Stockinette stitch using size 6 (4 mm)
26 stitches = 2⅝ inches (6.7 cm) over chain and heart design using size 6 (4 mm)

The pattern is written for circular needles, magic loop or two circulars, but could easily be converted to DPN’s.
