A shawl with bobbles worked in a contrasting color! Can be adapted to different yarn weights, colors, etc.

Description: Late in the summer of 2020, John Green made a YouTube video about drawing thousands and thousands of circles as a means of expression and comfort, inspired by the art of Hiroyuki Doi. After listening to him talk about this meditative and artistic practice, I experimented with creating circles in wool. I chose to create circles with the bobble stitch, with its repeated working of a single stitch to create a rounded texture. John described his own circles as imperfectly shaped and not always round, which made my own lack of uniformity feel authentic rather than imperfect. I placed my bobbles across a semi-curved shawl, so that its shape and lines would nod to the ones John created as he generated patterns with his circles and the glorious full-color versions that other Nerdfighters drew and shared online.

Please note: the pattern is not a Ravelry download; it is a digital perk dispersed by Complexly, LLC and P4A.
