Inspiration for this design is the Liveship Traders series by Robin Hobb. Wintrow is studying to be a priest of Sa when he is called home to sail aboard the family’s Liveship. His hair is pulled back in a sailor’s queue and off he goes on a harrowing adventure with his father who is only interested in riches, riches, and more riches.

Coins and Queues Socks use two lively cables accented with complementary ribbing on the cuff, heel flap, and toe. The pattern is written for double-pointed needles, but can be knitted just as easily with two circular needles or the Magic Loop method.

Handspinners: Size 9US women’s sock took 320 yards of handspun fingering weight yarn (orange socks shown are handspun Corriedale).
