These mittens have a tree bark textured back and smooth palms and thumbs. Knit them up in one color or use a second color for the garter cuff. A small optional hole can be included for the index finger so you don’t have to take your mittens off to use your phone.

Sizes
S/M – will fit hands between 6.5 and 7.5 inches around (measured above the thumb)
M/L – will fit hands between 7.5 and 8.5 inches around

Materials
Approximately 140 yards of aran-weight yarn for the S/M (35 of cuff color and 105 of hand color); approximately 160 yards of aran-weight yarn for the M/L (40 of cuff color and 120 of hand color).
US 8/5 mm needles or size needed to obtain gauge in your preferred configuration for working small circumferences
US 7/4.5 mm needles or one size smaller than gauge needles in your preferred configuration for working small circumferences
Stitch markers
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
