Color Me Happy, color me thrilled, this sweater turned out so much better than I had dreamed! I had this idea in my head for about 9 years, and finally decided that it was time. After finishing mine, I visited my good friend Pat Fly of Fly Designs. I had already fallen in love with her Butterfly Organics striping yarn, the colors were so intense and vibrant…..so the hooded version was created. My younger daughter Marika soon attached herself to it and was the inspiration for the toggle fastenings.

First of all this is machine knit. On a Circular Sock Machine using a 72 slot or higher cylinder count. Other size cylinders could be used, but would make it much harder to get the dimensions needed for the flat work.If you have a CSM, you do not need to be able to rib to make this, knitting back and forth, short rows, and hems are the techniques that are used.

Pattern is written to size XL, but with a bit of math (all figures are done, you fill in blanks) you can knit any size as long as you have the measurements.

Sweater comes with the option of a shawl collar or a hood. Optional pockets are set in the side seams. A crochet hook is used for assembling together, but seaming is also an option.

You may need more yarn than suggested if trying to match stripes or for color blocking. Less yarn if you decide to make a shorter version.

Lots of pictures and illustrations to help you.

Last but not least, it somehow has a slimming effect as I have had several people ask if I have lost weight when they see me wearing it.
So Color Me Happy and color me thinner!
