This cozy heart hat has a folky feel with a stockinette heart motif and square crown decreases. This hat is perfect for matching hats for mommy and me or the whole family. (Guys can wear hearts, too!) The hat is fully reversible, so you can have the hearts look like stockinette or reverse stockinette.

The pattern contains written and charted directions for the heart motif. The chart shown is for the S size, but the heart motif is the same in each size, only the number of stitches between the hearts changes.

The pattern is written for three sizes: S, M, L.
Circumference: 16.5, 18, 21 inches
Length: 6.5, 8, 9 inches
Sizing is based on un-stretched measurements.
S is suitable for toddlers and children and can fit heads 16-19 inches.
M can fit teenagers or adults whose heads measure 18-21 inches.
L fits adults whose heads are 21-24 inches.

The medium takes approximately half a skein of Paton’s Classic Wool Merino.

The directions are written to be worked on a set of 5 double pointed needles. The hat can be knit with circulars, but you would need to switch to double pointed needles for the crown or use magic loop (in which case you would need to place stitch markers during the crown decreases).
