Sometimes, you just need a pair of warm, classically styled, cozy socks! Inspired by Guernsey sweaters, these socks are perfect for showing off that special skein of variegated or speckled yarn in your stash. The continuation of the pattern throughout the sock keeps the knit interesting from cuff to toe, and the slip stitches on the outside of the heel flap provide an extra layer of cushion and more opportunities to show off the texture of the yarn being knit.

Materials:
•300-460 yards of fingering weight yarn (depending on size of calf and foot desired). Shown in francofille knits Bon Temps on Normandie (400 yards 100 grams; 80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon)
•US size 1 (2.25 mm) circular needles with cable long enough for magic loop (or preferred sock needles).
•Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
•At least 1 stitch marker
