This is a fantastic scrap yarn pattern. I used a hodgepodge of different yarns to crochet the sample potholder -- but if you don’t already have a yarn in mind for this project, I recommend Cascade 220. For starters, Cascade 220’s amazing color palette will give you lots of color choices for making your potholders. You’re certain to find colors that match your kitchen / bakeware (etc). Or, in the case of the project sample, I used Christmas colors -- which is another fun option to consider.

Also, wool is great for making potholders because it doesn’t burn easily; if it catches on fire, the flame will usually go out on its own instead of burning.
