The Dappled Shawl is an easy triangular sideways garter stitch shawl. It starts with three cast-on stitches and ends on the opposite long side with increases worked along only one edge. The pattern is written for sock or fingering weight yarn and is well suited to variegated yarn.

A single skein of yarn is used here (including tassels) but any amount of yarn may be used and gauge also may be adjusted. Yarn shown here is Ancient Arts Yarns Superwash Merino Silk Fingering and the colour is Dapple.

Tassels are optional and a tassel-making tutorial is available here: Making Tassels 101.
