Whenever I publish a new pattern, there will be summer on one side of the equator, and winter on the other. And either you have summer or winter right now, there will come a time of the year when you long to wear a cozy cardigan like this one.
I can tell you that I used mine nearly the entire month of May, as the temperatures were lower than usual. And I can also tell you how lovely and warming this sumptuously cozy cardigan was to wear.

The textured pattern of the Day cardigan is easily worked up, using knit and purl sts only. The texture looks a bit like brioche, but it is far easier to work and the fabric created is more elastic.

Sizes
Finished chest measurements, when buttoned and worked at gauge:
Sizes 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9: 84/91/98/105/112/119/126/133/140 cm = 33/36/38/41/44/47/49.5/52/55”. The sample is worked in size 2, with 12 cm/5” of positive ease.

Materials
Yarn: I used 2 yarns held together to work the sweater. Yarn 1: “All Day organic” from Gepard, in shade 880. This fingering weight yarn comes in balls of 50 gr/1.76 oz and 175 m/191 yards.
Yarn 2: “Kid Seta Tweed” from Gepard, in shade 880. This lace weight yarn comes in balls of 25 gr/0.88 oz and 210 m/230 yards. You will need approximately 1150/1225/1375/1525/1675/1825/1975/2125/2275 m = 1255/1335/1500/1665/1825/1990/2155/2320/2480 yards of EACH of the yarns listed above.
You may also work using a worsted weight yarn in one single strand only, of which you will need approximately 1250/1350/1450/1550/1650/1750/1850/1950/2050 m = 1365/1475/1580/1690/1800/1910/2020/2125/2235 yards.
Needles Size 3.5 mm/US4 to work the hem and cuffs.
Size 4 mm/US6 to work the main body and sleeves.
Size 3 - 3.5 mm/US2.5 - 4 to work the neckline/button-bands.
Notions: Waste-yarn, or holders for keeping the sleeve-sts. 4 removable stitch-markers.
7 buttons, 18 mm/0.75” across. Tapestry needle. Blocking tools.

Gauge 23 sts and 30 - 32 rows/rounds in the textured pattern = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”

Construction
The cardigan is knit seamlessly in the following order:
The lower body is worked bottom-up and flat, starting from a long-tail cast-on,
the ribbed edge hem, followed by the rib-pattern of the main-body to underarms. The sleeves are worked bottom-up and in-the-round, starting from a long-tail cast-on,
followed by a ribbed cuff and the main-sleeve in the rib-pattern to underarms.
All increases of the sleeves are worked directly after the cuff. The lower body and sleeves are joined and worked in one piece, and the upper body is shaped with raglan decreases and decreases towards the fronts. The neckline/button-band is worked in one piece, from picked-up and live sts.
