Decibella is a chunky, stylish, reversible cowl in a quick-to-knit 2 color variation of Shaker Rib, with an applied icord finish to lend some structure. The pattern is easily adaptable to lighter weight yarns, if you want to turn down the volume.

It’s shown here in Cascade Magnum, knit on size US 15 /10mm circular and uses most of two skeins, about 100 yards/113 meters each of two colors. This is a cowl that needs to be knit loosely and have some drape. Please do a swatch in the pattern stitch, especially if you are the kind of knitter who can’t stop themselves from snugging up every stitch. A needle upsize to US 17 might be in order.

Finished dimensions, as shown : 60” (152.4 cm) circumference , 10” (25.4 cm) tall/wide.
The model is petite. It’s easy to adjust the size of your finished Decibella, just make sure you have enough yardage of you want more volume.

If you decide to knit from a less bulky weight yarn, or by holding two strands together to make a bulky weight yarn, you’ll want to swatch to make sure you have enough yardage to get the size cowl desired.

It’s a cowl that makes itself heard--and quick enough to knit over the weekend, for yourself or to gift.

Buy it on Ravelry for 4. US, pattern includes applied icord directions.
