Dishmat Scarf was simply inevitable. Dishmat Scarf pairs easy knitting pairs with faux cable details for a cozy, textured finished object.

Also, buttons. It has buttons.

Knit Dishmat Scarf in chunky wool for a big, cozy, relatively quick-knit scarf or cowl. Big, lightweight buttons (wood or coconut are a nice choice here) provide a nice finish, and keep the ends of your scarf neatly paired.

This .PDF features written instructions, a cool schematic to show what a rectangle is like, and a few illustrative photos of the creation of the crochet chain faux cable to help with that step.

Gauge:
Gauge is about 8 sts and 15 rows over 4”/10cm of work in pattern, blocked. (Blocked garter stitch should be about the equivalent.) Gauge is not too important for this project, but for results most closely resembling the sample, please be sure to check your gauge.

Measurements:
The sample shown measures about 54”/1.37m long by 12”/30cm wide.
This pattern can also be used to make a shorter cowl—one that is intended to be worn as a single layer or loop—which measures 41”/1m long.
