The cap begins with an i-cord tie, stitches are then picked up to work the body. A small tab is then worked, stitches are picked up and then the body is joined for working in the round for the decreases at the back.
The booties are worked from the sole to the cuff. The soles are worked back and forth, then stitches are picked up to work the side
of the foot. Short rows are then worked for the top of the bootie, and is finished with a rib and garter cuff.
YARN: The Fibre Company Canopy Worsted (50% baby alpaca,
30% merino, 20% viscose from bamboo; 200 yds/50gm skein):
quetzal, 1 skein.
GAUGE: 20 sts + 40 rows = 4” (10 cm) in garter st, after blocking.
1 Lace Pattern Repeat (11 sts) = 2.125”.
NEEDLES: 1 - 16” US 5 (3.75 mm) circs and set dpns.
NOTIONS: Tapestry needle, 2 stitch markers.
SIZE: To fit babies 4-12 months. Cap: 14” circ and 7.25” high,
Bootie: 3.5” length, 6” circ.
