A lattice flowerbed,
stems topped by button blooms
and a knit flower to top it all off.
What little girl could resist?

This is the sportweight version of the original Flower Power Hat. It comes in three sizes and begins with your choice of three different brims, continues with horizontal braid and then a lattice in three colors. Don’t let that worry you though. It’s an illusion. Each row is knit with just one color and slipped stitches are used to give it the illusion of colorwork. The stems of the flowers are done with your choice of duplicate stitch or an anchored crochet chain. Top the stems with buttons or embroider lazy-daisy flowers. And why use a pompom when you can have a hat on the top? Although a bit fiddly, the flower is knit in one piece and tacked to the top of the hat. This is certainly not your run-of-the-mill hat.

Sizes: S (12-18mos), M (2-3 years), L (4-6 years)
