I live in the incredible Pacific Northwest, and spend my days hiking gorgeous misty mornings surrounded by beautiful evergreens. I wanted to capture the spirit of this beauty in my Forest For The Trees Hat.

Cables of varying sizes combine to evoke the image of a forest! The beginning is an interesting twist on a rib pattern, and the soft puffy yarn reminds me of mist.

It is the perfect hat for stomping the streets of Seattle, exploring the local parks, or lounging with a blanket and sipping a mug of hot local coffee.

Measurements after blocking: 22¨ circumference.

Gauge: 4 stitches = 1¨ wide on SMALLER NEEDLES in row 1-9 of pattern.

Materials used:

Size 7 (4.5mm) and 8 (5 mm) DPN/circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.
Yarn used: 2 balls Poppy’s Pom Pom Samoyed Yarn. 75% Samoyed and 25% merino.
125 yards; 2oz: 3 ply- DK weight. Color used: white

Note:
This hat is worked as 5 repetitions of a 21 stitch pattern, read from right to left. Rows 1-9 are worked with size 7/smaller needles, and the main body is worked using size 8/larger needles.
